FOUNDER & CEO

Nicole has been passionate about education her whole career and remains personally involved in every family’s tutoring experience. Inspired by her father’s legacy as an accomplished educator, Nicole started Westbrook Tutoring over 30 years ago with the goal of fulfilling the individual educational mandates given to her by parents.

She believes that busy parents deserve expert support as they navigate the often emotional topic of a child’s day-to-day schooling. At Westbrook, Nicole aims to help families enjoy their time together instead of stressing about homework.

Nicole highly values the individualized care, respect, and excellence that Westbrook tutors bring, and loves building long-term relationships with families and students.

TUTOR — MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE

Tiffany is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Immunology and Infection. At Westbrook, she tutors a variety of subjects, including mathematics, statistics, chemistry, biology, and physics, working with students from high school through university.

Tiffany is passionate about teaching because she enjoys helping students build confidence and discover that learning can be both rewarding and enjoyable. Whether it’s reviewing foundational concepts, preparing for exams, or tackling challenging problems, her goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their problem-solving skills.

TUTOR — CHEMISTRY, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE

Steve has recently completed a Master’s degree in Chemistry and years of experience supporting students from elementary school to university. He brings both real-world expertise as an educator and encouragement to every tutoring session.

Steve specializes in breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable steps that help students build confidence and truly understand the material. Passionate about education, Steve goes beyond the textbook—helping students develop study skills, critical thinking, and resilience that serve them well inside and outside the classroom.

TUTOR — ENGLISH, SOCIAL STUDIES

Elle is an Honours Political Science student at Western University with a passion for education and mentorship. With several years of tutoring experience, Elle is especially skilled at working with children and helping them build confidence in their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.

Whether supporting early learners or high school students, she creates a positive and encouraging environment tailored to each student’s needs. She specializes in english, social studies, and does prep for the english section of the MCAT.

Kendra is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate in Accounting and Finance with a Human Resources Management Diploma. She has over 10 years of experience providing tutoring and supporting youth. She really enjoys being a part of student success, seeing them grow, and building their confidence in things that they once struggled with!

Kendra specializes in tutoring math, general sciences, and business.

TUTOR — MATHEMATICS, PHYSICS

Following a long and successful career in the classroom, Lorne has been a Westbrook tutor for more than ten years. His first degree was in Engineering Physics, giving him a deep understanding of his subject matter. He is passionate about helping students achieve their goals; whether it be to help a struggling student to gain confidence (and perhaps even to excel), or to help an already great student to become elite. He currently teaches students from grade one all the way through to second-year university. Lorne also loves intellectual enrichment such as chess, backgammon, quizzing, and mathematics contests. He cares deeply for students and loves helping them achieve their best possible results.

Jazlynn has a passion for tutoring and has been helping teach kids of all ages since 2022. With a degree in Psychology and Drama, Jazlynn holds a unique perspective between the sciences and arts which she is able to pass along to her students, encouraging them to make broader connections and think outside the box.

She enjoys working with and mentoring students, using individualized plans to help them to build their confidence and abilities in english, math and the sciences.

TUTOR — BIOLOGY, SCIENCE

Brenna holds a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy and a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience. She specializes in tutoring biology and science for grades 7–12, helping students build confidence, curiosity, and strong problem-solving skills.

With her background in both health sciences and research, she brings real-world connections to each lesson, and aims to foster a love for learning in all students!

TUTOR — ENGLISH, FRENCH, SOCIAL STUDIES

Throughout her academic and professional experiences, Melissa has worked with children and youth in educational, community, and research settings, supporting learners from diverse backgrounds. She is currently completing her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Alberta, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Melissa tutors students in elementary, junior high, and high school in subjects including English, French, and social studies. She finds it especially rewarding to see a student understand a concept in their own way. She enjoys adapting her teaching approach to meet each learner’s unique strengths. Her goal is to help students build both their academic skills and their confidence so they can become independent, lifelong learners.

Alex-Paige is a disability advocate, who spends her spare time connecting with government agencies to help make our country accessible for everyone.

She has been tutoring since 2020, and loves personalizing her teaching style for each student. Alex-Paige also likes to help students with their test taking, providing tips, tricks, and analysis to help students when writing their exams.
